We are using the Notice and Note by Kylene Beers and Robert E. Probst this year in our 6th grade classrooms. They have helped our students to close read fiction. They are things for students to watch for while they are doing their 40 book challenge that Donna Miller's The Book Whisperer suggests, When they NOTICE these different things or signposts, they TAKE NOTE of what that will mean in the novel. They are so fun to listen to "Oh I have found and Aha moment or here is a tough question. TO help with the Sign Posts we created PowerPoint's so it makes more sense.
